Advertising of Clothes
Just like advertising today, advertising in the 50s, especially for clothes, made you feel like you would be better off with the product being displayed. Many companies used slogans like, "a feast for the eyes!" or "if the shoe fits, buy it in every color!" Also, this was the about the time that advertising really began to explode because of the new consumer culture. So many new products and clothing brands created a whole new way of making the consumer buy the product. The advertisements were typically displayed on a model figure or someone of beauty. Also, color advertisements were becoming common in this era. As a result, the new way of advertising definitely caught the consumers eye.
